Virtual StaffingU FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)
Do I have to choose the courses I plan on taking when I sign up for a Professional Program?
No, you can select your courses when you are ready.
How soon after enrolling will I be able to start taking classes?
Your user name and password will be sent to you within one business day following your enrollment in a program. At that time, you can immediately begin taking web-based courses and also schedule your TeleClasses.
Do I earn a certificate of completion when I finish a program?
Yes, you will receive a certificate of completion once you have met the requirements for your specific program.
Does StaffingU certify or credential staffing and recruiting professionals?
No. We believe that certification and credentialing is a function best handled by associations. Two associations that currently offer certifications are the American Staffing Association (www.staffingtoday.net) and the National Association of Personnel Services (www.recruitinglife.com). You can earn continuing education credits for your certification when you complete a Virtual StaffingU program.
Is it true that I can take an unlimited number of the web-based courses?
Yes, your enrollment in a Professional Program entitles you to take as many of the web-based courses as you like from your course catalog during the year of your enrollment.
If you choose a 3-Pack, you may take each course as often as you like during your three-month enrollment.
Can I share my enrollment in a program with someone else in my office?
In order to keep prices for these programs as low as possible, sharing is not permitted.
How often may I use my Personal Mentor?
You are welcome to ask questions of your Personal Mentor using the discussion board as often as you wish during your enrollment.
What is a TeleClass?
A TeleClass is a live telephone-based class. Calls are connected using state-of-the-art TeleBridge technology.
I've never heard of a TeleClass. Is this a new concept?
Telephone-based learning has been successfully used for professional training since the early 1990's. StaffingU is responsible for introducing the TeleClass format for the Staffing Industry.
Does training by telephone really work?
Not only does it work well, but training by telephone has distinct advantages over traditional training methods. Since classes are typically limited to 55 minutes, information overload is eliminated. This format also allows participants to immediately use what they learn the moment they disconnect from the call. Because of these and other factors, participants in our program often comment that they use more of the techniques and concepts than those they learned in a one or two-day in-person seminar.
Is web-based training effective?
One of the strongest indicators of the effectiveness of web-based learning can be found at a growing number of major colleges and universities. Harvard, Stanford, and Ohio State University are just a few of the recognizable names that have added web-based courses to their programs.
What telephone number will I dial to connect to my class?
The bridge telephone number for your class will be sent by e-mail at least one week prior to the start of your program. The telephone number will be within the continental United States. Normal long distance charges will apply and are the responsibility of the participant.
Can I call in to my TeleClass from a speakerphone?
To ensure the highest quality sound and experience for all participants, calls from speakerphones are NOT permitted.
How many people are in each TeleClass?
TeleClasses are limited to no more than 20 participants.
Are handbooks or manuals provided for TeleClasses?
Course materials are provided by StaffingU for most programs. Manuals for TeleClasses are in PDF format (Adobe's Portable Document format) and include a link to the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software.
